1. The inaugural series begins at the 2009 Sugarloaf Marathon to be held on May 17th. It  concludes at the 2009 Mount Desert island Marathon to be held on October 18th.  

2. Series participants must run both races held in the same calendar year to be scored. They must abide by the competition rules of the respective events and register for the individual races at the following links or as found on the respective events official web pages (click logos above):

3. The Total official combined times for both races will be used to determine the overall  Maine Summit to Sea Marathon Series champions.  

4. The overall male and female champions will be named at the finish line of the 2009  MDI Marathon. Series contenders should check posted results before departing.  

5. Full series results for all participants will be tabulated and posted here
